I was so super excited when I found these cute little packages of glutenfree snacks and guess where I found them?!?...at the Asian Supermarket..!! Well, as you guys know.. I'm a sucker for spicy food..and that includes my snacks! BUT... for all of you who don't like spicy food/snacks.. don't ya worry...these snacks we're all available without the 'spicy' too! So let me start explaining what it 's all from left to right. (scroll down) - Hot & Garlic flavoured Corn (0,99 euro) Oke these.. are so f#cking addictive.. I couldn't stop myself from eating..make sure you'll take a mint before talking to someone....the garlic sure was there.. holy crap! :| - Spicy Chickpeas (1,50 euro) Who would have thought that chickpeas can be eaten like crispy chips! Holy crap! These are super flavourful.. Indian spices and a lot of chilli.. for all you spicy lovers out there.. this is the best spicy snack I've had by far! MMmm..Gotta love it! - Spicy Banana Chips (1,15) Who ever decided to put this on the market is a fucking genius!! I mean.. do I really have to explain you this?! my love for banana chips + my love for spicy food = please stop me from eating more...like..seriously.. :| Conclusion.. they were all super tasty and I just love the exotic spices! So YES...a gluten-allergy isn't as sad as you might think sometimes ;D Besides..These are all great to surprise your guests with before starting your three course diner party....trying new things with friends is just way more fun! These snacks are also great to eat while watching a great movie.. or when you're feeling hungry..or when you feel like eating something spicy..or when you...oh well.. just ANY time is great!! At least I know for sure that I'll find any excuse to eat these...
xoxo The Cookteaser I should have post this blog wayyyyyy earlier but I ...I actually have no excuse... I just didn't oke?! haha so here it comes.. better late then never! ;D WOOHOOO.. I was really so happy when I got the news that Amsterdam is finally enriched with a huge Dille & Kamille shop! I ab-so-lutely LOVE it SO MUCH! When I walked into the shop, for a moment I felt like I wasn't in Amsterdam. Because I normally only go there whenever I'm in Antwerp or London. Don't ask me why I never did some online shopping...as I'm quite good at it when it comes to expanding my wardrobe (..woops) but somehow when it comes to kitches appliances I'd rather buy them in a real store then online.. there IS another Dille & Kamille shop in Holland but outside Amsterdam..and you know what they say about Amsterdam based people..YUP..to lazy to travel ;D And I'm proud of it (well.. actually I'm not.. so scrap that) I just HAVE to walk in this shop and I always walk out of it with just way to much stuff to bring back home.. Especially the stash of weckpots, jars & glass bottles they have! It's a must for every cook addict like me! They look absolutely STUNNING on your kitchen counter! For those who don't own a spirooli, you can buy this Julien slicer for just a few bucks and in no time you have made your zucchini spaghetti with this thing! It will give you the exact same result as the spirooli does but a bit more time consuming.. but I bet that after you work with it more often you'll get the hang of it. :D Start making your own organic herbs! They have about every herb you can think of and the glass bowl is what I think G to the Orgeous.. GORGEOUSSSSS!! This shop is not only great to buy stuff for yourself. But since it's open I LOVE coming here to buy gifts for my lovedones who adore cooking and/or baking like I do! Tip: check out the stunning dried flowers they have upstairs on the right! Gotta have those in your interior! Have a great day! :D xoxo The Cookteaser Dille & Kamille
Nieuwendijk 16 Amsterdam + 31 (o)20 330 3797 Cauliflower is a such a versatile veggie! I mean.. they're delish eating them raw, great to make soup with, making a glutenfree pizza crost out of it and now THIS.. Making your own veggie 'Rice', well I call it rice.. cause I mean..look at it... it totally looks like it right?!...Or am I just to Asian that I want to see it as a rice... :| oh well whatever, F#ck it..How you look at it doesn't really matter cause it's all about having a sensational flavour explosion in your mouth ;)! As it is important to eat a fatty fish at least once a week I came up with this recipe to go with a nice piece of smoked salmon. Just by scraping the cauliflower in it's raw form.. you're literally almost there...You'll be amazed how much 'rice' you get from a small piece of cauliflower! Ingredients for 4 sexy bitches: - 2/3 cauliflower (grated) - 1 zucchini (chopped in small chunks, I ate them raw.. but of course you can lightly bake them too before adding them) - 4 tomatoes (cut in pieces) - a handful pomegranate seeds - 1 lemon (juice) - 1 spoon of horseradish paste (or you can grate is fresh..but I like to make things easier for myself..) - 3 spoons of light quark or yoghurt (if you're dealing with a dairy intolerance you can use Mayonnaise instead) - a small hand of Mint leaves - a bunch of Dill - depending on how much you make - 1 package of organic smoked salmon (use for each person 1 slice of smoked salmon to go on the plates. Chop the rest of the salmon in fine bits) - season with some pepper to taste What now?!
- Start by crating the cauliflower and set it a side in a nice big bowl. - get a small bowl and mix the finely chopped salmon together with the dill, mint, quark, lemon and horseradish and mix this all well. - Add the mixture together with the grated cauliflower and add the rest of the ingredients. - Season it with some pepper (I don't think it needs extra salt because of the smoked salmon is salty enough already) - TADAAA ..you're done..!!! If you're not into salmon or fish, just leave it out and add some more grilled pieces of zucchini! MMmmmm... Hope you'll enjoy this dish as much as my friends and I did! xoxo The Cookteaser I love making my own granola, but if you're not blessed with a lot a free time like me it's just easier to just mix some 'ready to buy' ingredients to make your own new type of 'granola' or 'muesli' whatever you want to name it yourself. I'm totally hooked on eating dried mango, although it's a fruity snack.. they contain a lot of sugar..and with a lot I mean.. it's like a sugarbomb so that makes it also high in Cal..(not so sexy..)! So instead of eating them just as a snack I came up with this idea to cut them in little bits so I can mix it with the rest of my mix of Buckwheat flakes, Linseed, Goji berries, Coconut crisps, Hazelnuts and (glutenfree) Oatmeal. I love the fact that there's a big variety on glutenfree 'oats' you can buy at the Eko Plaza, believe me... eating just quinoa-oats with yoghurt is SUPER BORING and really not that tasty.. so mix mix mix.. and TADAAA...you're personalised healthy breakfast mix is ready to be eaten..! TIP: Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl and stir it well so everything is mixed evenly and then put it back into a big Weckpot or big Mason Jar! Not only doen this look stunning on your kitchencabinets, the taste is even better! I love to eat this as a snack in between meals or to start my day with. Layers of 'Light Soft Curd Cheese' (Dutch transl. magere kwark) or if you like you can change it into Soy yoghurt, coconut yoghurt.. you name it..
Layer it with fruits you love and your own mix of oats, healthy seeds and dried fruits! I bet that after eating your own customised mix you will NEVER order a granola/yoghurt outdoors.. this just beats it by FARRRR! Have a nice day! xoxo The Cookteaser |
