I was introduced to this lovely product a couple of weeks ago when I had my friends J. and Y. over for dinner and as a surprise they gave me this special icecream from 'Professor Grunschnabel'.
It's suitable for vegans, gluten free, soja free, lactose free, halal AND kosjer.. like seriously.. there's just no more excuse to not eat this haha! ;) And now the BEST PART.. the flavouRRrrrrrr.. 'Strawberry with Hot Madame Jeanette and Habanero Chilipeppers'..I know right.. it's crazy! But believe me.. this sorbet ice cream where Hot & Cold are mixed together just turned out great!!
This flavour really fits my desire in taste.. I mean I LOVEEEEE strawberries and I'm pretty much addicted to eating spicy food. Even though I don't love ice cream as much as most people do, 'Professor Grunschnabel' just changed it all! MMMmm.. it's addictive! Sweet jesus make me stoppppp eating this @%^%$#^$$!! You can buy 'Professor Grunschnabel' icecream at the Asian Supermarket 'Dun Yong' (Stormsteeg 9, Amsterdam) for 5,99 Euro. I checked out their website and I found out that it's a Dutch brand!! and they have 11 more flavours, all very unique and different then what you're familiar with! LOVE THIS!
Have you ever tasted 'Professor Grunschnabel' icecream?! Feel free to leave me a comment, I'm curious what you think of this ice cream brand!
I'm SO HAPPY! Last Saturday this fabulous small coffee shop opened it's doors and it's on my block! It's called 'Lot Sixty Nine'. Finally some real GOOD coffee to get near my house! LOVE IT!

damn that coffee is super tasty! I always drink my coffee black and there's just no better way of tasting the quality of coffee this way in it's pure form. Only ONE thing is missing here..
You guys know about my 'Dirty Chai' (chai tea+soy milk+shot espresso) addiction right? They don't have Chai tea here.. that means... NO dirty chai for Eva :( BUT... the australian dude told me that they probably will have Chai tea starting at the end this week or next week.. OOOOHHH I can't wait!!What I really think is magical about this little coffee house is that they roast their own coffeebeans! Well I'll be damned! Don't you just love that?!
So a great new coffee/tea hang out at the Kinkerstraat 212 (Kinkerstraat/ Bilderdijkkade) to get some real good coffee!
I just LOVEEEEE salmon! It's so rich in flavour! Don't let the salmon fool you by it's fat, those are healthy fats! I made an easy but MEGA delish dish, if I may say so myself ;)
I would definitely recommand to buy salmon WITH skin, this way you can make the skin nice and crispy!OOHHhh so so good! Oke scroll down to find out how I make salmon tastier then EVER ;)
Ingredients for 2 gorgeous human beings:
- 200 grams of Bimi (if you don't have it use asparagus or brocolli)
- 2 pieces of salmon (with skin please, don't forget to scrape the fish scrubs of the skin using a knife)
- some cilantro (that's coriander)
- half a red pepper (get rid of the seeds if you're scared of eating to spicy)
- 2 garlic gloves
- a chunk of ginger (finger top size)
- 3 limeleaves
* Kitchenmachine would be handy for this dish
- a shot of chinese rice wine
- a shot of soy sauce
- some pepper
Start mixing the coriander (leave the steels of the coriander, it's juicy and very flavorful), garlic, ginger, red pepper and limeleaves in the kitchenmachine (you can use a knife too but I think you save a lot of time using your machine for this). Drizzle some oil (coconutoil) in your pan and add the herbal mix into it. After 30 seconds you can add the bimi. Mix it all and top it of with a bit of soy sauce at the end.
Meanwhile bake your Salmon, very important here is to bake the SKIN-side first, leave it on max fire, for 3-4 minutes or so, season the salmon with some pepper (check the skin for it to be nice and crispy) and turn it around. The secret to leave the skin crispy and when you still have to season the salmon with liquid seasoning like soy sauce and rice wine is that you add in the shot of soy sauce and chinese rice wine directly on the pan(DON'T drizzle it OVER the salmon!!), this way it will 'steam' your salmon only from the bottom leaving the crispy skin crispy! ;) When the soysauce and chinese ricewine are desolved the Salmon is ready!
THIS is what I call DELISH! MMMmmmm..
* the perfect salmon is when the colour changes from light pink from the outside to darker pink in the inside.
As you guys know I'm a big 'in-between-snack' kinda person and..I'm crazy about goatcheese too! So I thought of making my own red-velvet-goatcheese spread! This way I can easily get a ricecracker (or any cracker you love) and spread it on! Besides.. this looks wayyy more exotic then just white goatcheese don't you think ;) not to mention the GREAT TASTE!
Oke this is Super easy to make! So what are you waiting for?! Scroll down for my recipe..!
Ingredients (2/3 goatcheese & 1/3 sundried tomatoes):
- sundried tomatoes
* You do need a kitchenmachine for this!
What to do!?:
- Blend the sun dried tomatoes in your kitchenmachine until it's all smooth. Put it in a bowl and use the kitchenmachine again but this time add the goatcheese in (you don't need to clean your kitchenmachine in between). Stop when the goatcheese is all smooth too!
Now mix the white goatcheese paste with the red tomato paste.. and TADAAAAA!! ENJOY!!
TIP: Instead of the typical pesto or salted-herb-butter on toast to go with some booz when you have your friends over this is a great alternative! And I can tell you.. all my friends LOVE this spread!
Also..make sure you keep this in an air tight box, this way the spread can be saved for weeks!
