News-Flash..! So last Saturday I had lunch with two of my lovely friends Y. and D. and we went to 'Buffet van Odette' and I couldn't believe my eyes... they had one of my favourite drinks on the menu:
The DIRTY CHAI! Holy crap.. love it! The Dirty Chai is originally from Starbucks and people always stare at me whenever I order it somewhere else like..wtf is a dirty chai..?! So my opinion: Good things are happening at Buffet van Odette!
I think I even prefer their Dirty Chai more then the one at Starbucks.. why?..Cause this one is less sweet. MMMmm..I used to come here often but somehow I totally forgot about this place. Now I know they have the Dirty Chai I will definitely come back here soon! Maybe we'll see each other there ;)
p.s. don't forget to replace the regular milk with Soy milk ;)

Today I'm feeling..H to the Ungover.. jeeezzz. and there's only one person to blame for this and that will be ME (urgh) What happened was, my friend S. came over to drink some tea and relax at my place last night..Somehow the tea turned into wine..crazy enough the wine turned into shots and those shots magicly turned into f#cking gin!! I know right..that's like the weirdest thing EVER! lol
So after a parade of embarrassing myself all night I woke up this morning feeling like I was hit by a truck! :|. Like most Asians my body can't handle alcohol or in other words alcohol is like poisoning myself. I didn't feel like doing groceries so I looked into my fridge to see if I could fix myself something and I sure did!! This spinach-egg-roll turned out GREAT! Scroll down for this easy peasy recipe. I made this in just 15 minutes!
Ingredients you'll need:
- a handful of spinach
- 2 eggs
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- a big of goatcheese
- some salt, pepper and garlic powder
*you'll need your food processor for this recipe.
What the F#ck is next?
Mix the spinach, eggs and seasoning using a food processor. Use a bit of coconutoil and pour the mixture into the pan. Put the fire on low heat and leave it for something like 3 minutes or so, just check if the pancake isn't wet any more so you can flip it. Put the heat on max. for 30 more seconds and it's a (W)RAP! Finish it with tomatoes and goatcheese and you are DONE! Mmmmm Enjoy! It's really good!
This was SO easy to make, SO damn tasty.. AND good for the body! Mmmmm..Gotta love it! Have a great day!
HAHA Oke...as I was typing the title I already thought.. hmm... 'Morning Juice' sounds kinda gross, but hey.. you get what I'm saying right ;) !? I think I've been drinking my juices every morning now for something like 2 or 3 weeks in a row and I'm really noticing that somehow my body isn't craving for sweets.. YES, I know..like a f#cking miracle has happened! I'm feeling really energetic and because time can be such a bitch sometimes I just make myself an extra large juice instead of dinner. Don´t get me wrong.. I enjoy cooking much more but I see this as a great alternative when time isn´t working out.
Ingredients for this juice:
- 1 granny smith (that's an apple..NOT your granny silly!)
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- a chunk of ginger
- 3 carrots
- 2 big hands of wild spinach
- 1 passion fruit (don't put the fruit in your juicer, just scoop the flesh out with a teaspoon)
- 1 spoon of Maca powder
This week I was at this bar-restaurant called Toussaint and we ordered a plate of snacks to go with our drinks. On the menu they had a greenpea pesto, which I was drawn to as I never had that before. So, excited as I was when our plate arrived, I was kinda disappointed after my first dip.. Why? Well I didn't taste any pea flavour, and it was way to milky and creamy for me. So that inspired me to make a tastier and healthier version for myself and for you guys of course ;)! My sweet friend Y. came over for dinner tonight and as she doesn't eat any meat I thought this would be the perfect starter to begin with!
Ingredients you'll need:
- 4 hands of green peas (buy the organic frozen box)
- some water
- some salt & pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon of Masala
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of Kurkuma powder
- some coriander
* if you like, you maybe can even add a spoon of avocado-oil to make it more creamy I guess. Let me know if you tried it out!
What the f#ck is next?
- Get a normal pan and fill it half with water, when the water is boiling add the green peas, when the peas are floating they are ready and now you can drain the water.
Add all the seasoning and coriander (I used the juicy part of the coriander, as you would normally throw this part away, for this dip it's perfect to use!). Blend everything until it's a smooth thick paste, I added 2 or 3 spoons of water because I found it a bit to thick. Check if you need some more salt.
Let it cool, and if you like sprinkle some sesameseeds over the dip and add a leave of coriander, this way your dish looks much more sexier ;)
I served some sweet juicy carrots to go with this dip, but I think the list is endless. You can use this dip on toast, or as a sandwich-spread or to dip veggies like paprika and cucumber strings in.. you name it.. I dip it!!
Don't you just love it that the green colour is SO vibrant..oh just Beautiful! I will post the main course recipe tomorrow as I'm off to bed now..
Me and my friend S. decided to do some shots after a hard day of work! But hey..not just any shots stupid, but healthy wheat grass shots! It's been years ago that I've been drinking these green shots, and that reminded me I really have to drink these more often. Some find the taste really disgusting but I really like the taste..I even find it a bit lemony (call me crazy but I do!), I could seriously drink a whole glass of it!
As I'm going to Indonesia and Singapore soon I thought I'd do myself a favour by prepping myself drinking these super delish Coconuts! MMMmm I'm feeling exotic already ;) I always wonder how come the organic 100% coconut water at the organic supermarket can be stored outside the freezer for so long without added chemicals.. So by drinking these little fellas I'm really sure that this is pure nature I'm drinking, No package, No sugars, No chemicals, just Plain fresh coconut water straight out of the nut! MMMMmm.. so tasty!
You are now probably wondering where I had all these delicious drinks!? Well I was at the 'Alchemist Garden', a raw food restaurant and juicebar at the Overtoom. They've been here over 4 years but they've been changing the place bit by bit lately (good things are happening).
I love to go here when it's warm and sunny, they have a nice terrace but strange enough I have NEVER eaten here...BUT S. was feeling hungry and ordered the club sandwich, it's with raw bread and a good combination of healthy veggies, I took a bite out of her 'sandwich' and the part I liked best is the dressing on the sandwich! MMMMmm.. I couldn't place it what it was! but I liked it a lot!
Sure I have a love for nature..but the 'Alchemist Garden' took this to a whole new level..with that I mean their lavatory is a bit over the top.. they have real spiderwebs and spiders..and this wasn't just decoration..urgh..Whenever I'm in a restaurant I find it very important that the lavatories are in the same condition as the rest of the restaurant..So if you're reading this mr. Alchemist.. please mind the toilet..give it a bit more attention and it's all good :D
Tip: Before you start drinking the juice of the coconut I always scoop out the flesh, this way the coconut water will be much more flavourful, trust me.. you'll taste the difference!
Minor detail, as good as the coconut water is for you, don't forget that the white flesh (actually the best part) is very high in calories, and this..I unfortunately didn't found out about it reading it on the net..( I f#cking wish :|)

As you guys know I'm all about making myself a super healthy vegetable juice every single morning. I try to be as creative as possible so I won't be bored with it and today I decided to add some Passion fruit to my vegetable juice. Let me tell you.. this combo is FAN-F#cking-TASTIC!
I normally eat passion fruit just throughout the day, as a snack, I just LOVE the sweet and sour taste it has, just cut the fruit in half and scoop out the flesh by using a teaspoon! I seriously imagine myself somehwere in the tropics when I'm eating this with my eyes closed!..(yes with my eyes CLOSED I said..lol) MMMmm so damn tasty!!
The Juice I had this morning:
- 1/2 cucumber
- 3 carrots
- a chunk of ginger
- 1 lemon
- 1 orange
- 1 passion fruit (don't put the passion fruit in the juicer, just add it at last)
- 1 spoon of Maca powder
After drinking this I'm good to go! Well HELLOOOO WORLDDDDD :D
It took a while but here is one of the highlights of my trip to Antwerp/Belgium. What you probably don't know is that as a child I grew up in Belgium so I'm quite familiar with the city. But I always went there with my mom, so it felt totally different for me to go there with friends in a positive way.
I had lunch at a place called 'Lombardia', my friend C. recommended the place, I quote : You f#cking go to there..you'll love it!!. and off I went... First impression, from the outside you wouldn't find it the most appealing place step in as it's kinda scruffy looking, but let me tell you..the food is f#cking A-MAZING!!
The interior is just so 'different' and very chaotic BUT therefore very much their own signature and I really think that's the charm of Lombardia.. and I mean.. in the end.. you want to get rid of your hunger in a good way.. and I really think this is the place to be! Their speciality is the 'Ginger Love' drink, it's an all natural Ginger-Lemon tea which will give you all the energy you're looking for (to do some more shopping..). They're super famous because of this drink! We also had some delicious juices but I totally forgot to make pictures of them, but when you order a juice they evemn ask you if you like some maca powder or spirulina in it! MMMMMMmmm so good!
I'm guessing you're curious what I chose from the HUGE menu they have?! Well I had the magic mushroom salad and both my friends had the vegan burger. Believe me..everything was so damn tasty! they even served some glutenfree chips with a spicy ricemilke based dip! Mmmm love it! What I think what makes this place unique is that they only work with organic products and the whole menu is divided in categories like 'Vegan', 'Glutenfree', 'Lactosefree' and 'Healthy food. The portions are HUGE, when I saw my plate coming I thought.. I'm never gonna finish it..but hey.. when it's good..it's good..so I finished it all!
I had a nice chat with the owner Alain, and he told me his mother started Lombardia but she left our beautiful planet years ago and he decided to take over the place.. Thanks for keeping up the good work Alain, this place is enough reason for me to travel to Antwerp. I seriously could eat here mornings, afternoons and evenings! I'm NOT kidding! So if you're ever in Antwerp this is a MUST-GO to for sure!

I'm crazy about artichokes and I really wonder how come I almost NEVER see artichokes on the menus when I'm out and about. I love the stunning looks, taste AND they're like so easy to prepare! So.. It's time to give this beautiful veggie some attention eh?!
There's actually only one way I prepare mine, and that's by grilling them in the oven. I also served this many times as a starter-side dish whenever I have friends over for dinner, honestly.. it looks SO interesting on the table.. All my friends are always like.. holey #%$(^%$# what is that?!?! and then I'm like.. duhh it's an artichoke you stupid lol
uhm..anyway.. where was I .. oh yeah so how to prepare the artichoke like I do?! Just scroll down so we can turn the tables around and you'll be the one impressing your friends ;)
Ingredients for 3-4 persons as a snack-starter:
- 2 big beautiful artichokes
- 8 garlic cloves (I use the oven grilled garlic later to make the yoghurt dip)
- some salt & pepper
- 1 lemon juice
Delicious side dip:
- 6 mashed grilled garlic cloves
- 4 5 spoons of greek yoghurt
- some salt and pepper
- some cumin powder
- 1 spoon of lemon juice
What to do?
Preheat your oven on 200 Celsius.
Cut of the 1/3 top of the artichoke, now you'll see the beautiful coloured purple leaves (amazing right?!) and cut off the stem too. Put the cloves of garlic in each artichoke in between the leaves, drizzle some olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and half the juice of the lemon on each artichoke.
Wrap them in silver foil (make sure it's airtight) and put them in the oven for 90 minutes. (90 f#cking minutes?! ..YES sorry.. 90 minutes..)
Meanwhile you can prepare your main dish or go do something useful like polishing your nails lol, entertain your guests..or pour yourself 1,2 or 3 glasses of wine ;D
When the artichokes are ready get the garlic cloves out of the artichoke (please watch out you don't burn yourself) and mash them using a fork with the yoghurt and the rest of the seasoning.
Now dip every leave in the dip, and you'll eat the fleshy part of the artichoke.. MMMMMMMmmm don't you just love that?!
MMMMmmmm.. so sorry I totally forgot to make pictures of my yoghurt dip! Hope you like my recipe!
