After a few months of renovating Bo Cinq they recently opened his doors again! Thank god they still serve the beautiful Marrocan-French cuisine! I absolutely love that combo! One of the things they did change is changing the concept into ‘Sharing diner’, I’m really noticing that more and more restaurants work with this way of serving food and I think its great as in Asia it’s very normal to serve the dishes in the middle of the table so eveyone can enjoy a bit of every dish! Love it! Sharing is caring !! (unless it’s my favourite dish than; ‘don’t you dare coming near my plate biatchhhhh lol) Lucky me I was invited to come and enjoy a great evening at Bo Cinq last week, I was accompanied with my good friend Y. and we enjoyed a night with the most delicious cocktails, food and high quality service! They changed the whole place and I totally understand why they did this, I mean the restaurant is now in the area where the lounge used to be. With an eclectic interior, from beautiful black and white abstract art on the walls to a wall filled with green plants combined with industrial elements here and there. Different but Cool! The dishes I would recommand: Tortellini filled with duck liver and truffle with fried duck liver and a plum sauce * Mini fish tagine * Grilled scallops with little gems, white chocolate and lemongrass-sauce I hear you smokers think OMFG what if they got rid of the smoking area?!!? What if..?!?! WHAT IF (dramatic facial expression)?!?! Well calm down you heavy breathers.. it’s still there and they made that room even prettier with nice big couches combined with beautiful design. Even when you’re a non-smoker you’ll probably feel tempted to light a cigarette just because you want to sit there and enjoy that lovely space! What I love about Bo Cinq is that you don't have to think about where to go next after dinner, you just walk over to the lounge or have your drink at the LONGEST BAR of AMSTERDAM!! it's at least 25 meter !! Holy SMACK!! Good change we'll probably run into each other here soon! ;)

Sometimes when I don't feel like cooking I just make myself a nice fresh dip to put on a ricecracker or to dip my raw veggies in! A few days ago I felt like making Spicy Guacamole... Please don't mind my 'spicy in every dish' addiction..just leave the peppers out if you don't like spicy food ;) I mean I won't take it personal..no..I totally understand..like ..no really.. It's fine..lol You can make this dip in really 10 minutes if you have a (hand)food processor or otherwise you'll loose a lot of time squashing the guacamole with a fork..and do we love loosing time?? NO! Exactly! So get yourself a food processor!! Another option would be to buy a very very old avocado that's already mooshi . EWWW!! gross!! haha.. that's a joke..duh! Ingredients for 1 normal portion of Guacamole:
- 1 ripe guacamole - juice of half a lemon - 1 tomato cut in pieces - some coriander leaves - salt & pepper to taste (you won't need the pepper if you use the red pepper) - 1/2 red pepper What the f#ck is next?! Mix all the ingredients in your foodprocessor and add the finely chopped tomatoes at last..and..HOLY MOLY! yup.. you've made your very own GUACAMOLE!! (yes I am aware of it that it rhymes ..lol) xoxo The Cookteaser Who's with me on this!?! I just LOVE eating squid! I don't know why but I always have my periods that I want to eat squid a lot!!...but somehow I suddenly forget about it and I haven't make a squid dish for 1 year!! I know..like WTF! lol Last week I bought some beautiful squid at the market! I think I paid only something like 2,50 euro for 1 piece, so it's really cheap! I think most of you don't know how to prepare squid or maybe you never eat it the way I'm familiar with, I mean...if you think ordering calamaris at a restaurant is eating squid you're a f#cking retard! After my trip to Singapore I was so inspired of all the beautiful dishes with seafood! One of them was the Kang Kong with Spicy Squid! (kang kong is an Asian vegetable, you can get it in really any Asian supermarket). So I thought why not give it a shot to make it myself..! Ingredients for 2: - 1 squid - a bunch of Kang Kong (if you don't have that, spinach or watercress will do) - some coriander - a super tiny can of tomato puree - 1 red pepper - 2 garlic cloves - 1 small purple onion - a small shot of soy sauce - a small shot of fish sauce What's next?: drizzle some coconut oil in your pan and add the onion, garlic and pepper, let is simmer for 2 minutes and add the quid, after 1 minute move the squid to the side of the pan and add the vegetables with the tomato puree.. this way we won't overcook the squid. After 2 minutes toss everything together and add the fishsauce and soy sauce. 1 more minute on maximum heat and make sure the tomatopure is mixed well with all the ingedients..and you are done! I think this is even easier to make then calamaris and ten times healthier! Mmmmm enjoy! xoxo Good morning!! Kale is not only tasty to cook with but even better is to eat them raw! Now, I get it that you have a busy lifestyle where you might not have the time to cook and all.. So what I do when I don't have enough time to sit and eat I make myself a juice with more vegetables instead of fruit! This way you'll get all the fibres and vitamins your body needs to look & feel great! Trust me.. after this juice you are one stuffed little lady (ew...that actually sounded gross..but you know what I mean) Tip: Please don't buy those 10 dollar blenders.. cause...how can I say this nicely... well.. they just SUCK! Why?!? Because they won't blend the kale or any other vegetable in a smooth juice like a good top quality blender does. A big thank you to Kitchenaid! I love my blender! :D Ingredients to juice:
- 1 cucumber - 1 lemon - 1 green apple - 2 red beet - a chunk of ginger Ingredients to blend: - your freshly made juice - 3 hands of kale Good morning bitches! lol - I just felt like saying that.. I made myself a super super GROSS juice this morning.. As I totally forgot I ran out of red beets, carrots and apples I could only make myself a juice with: 1 Cucumber, a chunk of Ginger, 1 Lime and a spoon of Maca-powder. For a moment I thought I could fool myself by thinking this juice would taste great..but hey..I can't fool myself .. .let alone you guys!! This juice was truly Disgusting..positive side is that it's super detoxifying for the body and the lime will wake you instantly..! Either you don't have enough money to buy yourself some normal fruit & veggies to juice OR you're an true health die-hard! Well.. none of that was me this morning.. but I'm sure that after drinking this juice I will NOT FORGET to do my groceries!! Jeezzzz..
xoxo The Cookteaser Who doesn't know the classic Papaya Salad you can order in really just about every Thai restaurant?! But did you know that eating RAW Green Papaya is SUPER SUPER healthy for the body?! The taste and structure is so much different compared to the orange ripe papaya you normally eat as a fruit! As we al love taking care of our bodies start eating the green papaya more! Health benefits from eating papaya! ● Improving digestive health ● Boosting the immune system ● Protecting against urinary track infections ● Improving milk flow in new mothers ● Healing problematic skin conditions & injuries ● Soothing inflammation ● Cleansing intestinal track ● Aiding in elimination of parasites & amoeba ● Fighting nausea & constipation ● Promoting cardiovascular health ● Regenerating muscle tissue ● Increasing elimination of toxins ● Increasing energy ● Fighting infections ● Accelerating the healing of burns, sores, & wounds Ingredients for 2 fine bitches: - 1 green papaya (normal size) - 1 tofu - fresh coconut meat (I scooped mine out of a baby coconut..the meat is super soft and delish!) - a handful of beautiful tomatoes - half of a purple onion - some coriander Dressing: - 1 shot of fish sauce - 1/2 shot of soy sauce - 1 spoon of sesame oil - 1 lime juice - 1 red pepper chopped finely (get rid of the seeds) What's next?!
Slice the tofu and grill them on both sides. Meanwhile use a spiral slicer to make those beautiful papaya 'noodles' in just seconds of time...although there are many seeds in the papaya you'll loose them when you toss the papaya noodles over with your hands! Mix all the ingredients together and pour over the dressing. Now add the coconut flesh and grilled tofu to it and you are DONE! ps. sprinkle some black sesame seeds over the dish so it will get the 'restaurant' look lol I LOVEEEE coconut water, but I really don't believe brands who pretend that it's ALL Natural what they sell in stores.. I mean.. first of all..it's stored out of the fridge and second.. the expire date is Not really convincing me. Last weekend I was at the Asian supermarket and I ran into this little fella! No I'm actually lying.. I see these fresh coconuts every time I'm in a Asian supermarket..but I never bought them cause ..although I'm Asian.. I don't own a samurai sword to crack this thing up.. BUT that last Saturday I felt like a true ninja and bought the damn coconut! :D I used the biggest knife I have and TADAAAA... f%cking unbelievable.. I don't know about you guys.. but I seriously have strong feelings that when you open your coconut yourself, the juice will taste much more DELISH! No but really..you'll taste the difference.. Really more flavour to it and I love it that you can scoop out the delish coconut flesh to use in a salad or blend it for a smoothie! Health benefits of Coconut Water
1. Prevents dehydration. Refuels and rehydrates – coconut water maintains the body's fluid levels and its potassium content helps maintain water pressure within cells and blood. 2. Fuel for brain and muscles. Due to its electrolyte content, coconut water improves nervous system functioning and nerve transmission. Prevents cramps and spasms in the muscles. 3. Heart and kidney healthy. Reduces the risk of hypertension and strokes and helps prevent or resolve kidney stones. 4. Anti-aging. Contains compounds (cytokinins) that protect cells from aging and cancer. 5. Digestive Aid. Improves digestion and metabolism via bioactive enzymes. Aids absorption of food and efficacy of drugs due to its electrolytic effect. Soothes intestinal pain/spasm. 6. Supports immune function. Its Lauric acid content is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral. It boosts the immune system in fighting infection whilst helping to eradicate intestinal worms and candida. I'm just sayin'... xoxo The Cookteaser Did you know that making your own baba ganoush can be done in like 15-20 minutes?! It's great if your bored with hummus OR perfect to have them both when you're having friends over as a starter or snack while watching a movie! For the real health-geeks under us you can boil some green beans and cool them in ice water and dip them in the aba ganoush! I really can't believe that something THIS creamy is made WITHOUT any dairy involved! So yes Hello Vegans..go knock yourself out with this easy peasy recipe! ;) Ingredients: - 1 eggplant - 1 super small glove of garlic - 3 spoons of lemon juice - 4 spoons of Tahin (sesame paste) - salt & pepper What's next? As you can see there aren't many steps to follow..just grill your eggplant on open fire..yup..you got that right..OPEN FIRE! please watch out your perfectly manicured nails won't burn! (make sure the eggplant is grilled on all sides evenly, on low heat) After 13 minutes the eggplant should be ready..you'll smell the bbq scent! Mmmm Love it! Put the eggplant in a plastic bag or leave it to rest in some foil. After 5 minutes you can peel of the skin by using a bit of tissue. Get rid of the green top and mix the eggplant with all the rest of the ingredients using your immersion blender, if you don't have that, blend it all using your food processor. Add some salt & pepper to taste and let it cool before serving it. Enjoy bitches!
