This shop already exists over more then 25 years! :| and I just LOVE it! I walked by this shop very often but I never went in... until today.. ! And I'm so glad I did because first thing I saw on my left was the whole wall filled from down the ground till up the ceiling with all different kinds of tea flavours, I asked the man behind the counter if he had nettle tea..and sure he had it..he grabbed me a package and it was even an organic nettle tea! They even have a big range of vitamin and food supplement pills mostly all organic in the back of the store..I think this shop is a little hidden treasure which must be highlighted..So instead of going to a normal drugstore, I think Spax has a bigger assortment then other drugstore you're familiar with and I love it that they have a lot of organic stuff here they sell.. really worthwhile going to!
Yes people.. I'm telling you this because ..uh... because it's just better... just take my advise alright..! Go watch the freakin floor instead of making eye-contact while consuming your oh so tasty banana! haha oke.. Other then that I just Love bananas! Their great to eat just like that, but also very nice to cook with too, especially in desserts. I love to give them a crispy dough skin by frying them for a couple of minutes in coconut oil to combine them with a Chocolate Fondant...play with your sugar icing a bit et Voila.. it look marvelous and it's delicious .. MMMMmmm..
There are some great things you should know about the bananas too..READ MORE..
I had a very nice relaxing sunday lunch at G&T's with my good friend S. The place was really packed as usual, but we instantly got a very nice seat behind the window.. So enjoying great food, having nice conversations while watching strangers passing by.. don't we all love to do that? ;)
As you can see on the picture down below I had the Eggs Benedict: 2 Poached Eggs Under homemade hollandaise with smoked salmon.. Don't let your eyes fool you.. it might look like a small plate but trust me.. me and S. felt stuffed till 7 pm ! The eggs were just perfect.. hard on the outside and soft on the inside.. oh god.. so goodddddd!
I would also recommend to have the Green Tea, it's a really tasty one from a japanese brand called 'Kyoto', it had a very 'nutty' flavour..hmmm..
In the evening I was relaxing at D.'s place, it's a sort of routine now, D. even calls it our sunday family dinner.. it's just us but who cares I like it that he calls it that way..haha and guess who was cooking?! ME ofcours! duh.. haha ..I made us a lovely tom yum soup, a thai chickensoup with veggies and shrimps in...I'll post my recipe soon! Only thing I forgot was the coriander.. and I LOVE coriander..but still.. the soup was a succes..We enjoyed the food with a nice glass of wine ..well uh let's just say.. glasses.. haha. don't you give me that look...It was a really really tasty one.. you would have done the same.. ;)
How I start my day...by eating 2 boiled eggs, most people would tell me that it's bad to eat 2 eggs a day, but new research found that eating eggs when the eggyolk isn't 'hard' it's even GOOD for your cholesterol instead of bad..
As I'm a regular in the gym and because I don't eat a lot of meat I really need my eggs to get my portion of eggwhites and minerals by eating them. If you don't eat enough protein your body will burn your own muscles while working out instead of fat and you won't be able to push yourself to the next level in strenght..... Not so sexy uh! No we love to stay sexy.. so what are you waiting for.. Start your day too with boiled eggs..
Sometimes I wish I could travel in time, go back to handle things differently, to the future..to be more prepared on what's coming..
NEWS-FLASH... timetravelling ain't gonna happen!! So on this Saturday morning I did my timetravelling by cycling my way to 'Friday Next'. From the outside you would think it's an interior decoration shop, but look closer and you'll see it's a shop which combines it services with breakfast&lunch too!
My partner in breakfast-crime and I were sort of a part of the whole shop interior, you'll see people coming in and out looking for new furniture and then there's us..having our chit-chat and breakfast.. I think it's fun and it gives the whole place a nice energy flow of people coming in and out..
We both ordered the sandwich goatcheese with pumpkin together with a hot lemon tea but we find the sandwich a bit scanty, the bread was good, I could taste it was the 'whole grain' from this bakery called 'Brood', but for the price of 8,50 Euro I would just expect a bit more then this.. I felt I could make this myself in 10 min. at home but even better.. A small salad on the side would be a good option.. or some grilled veggies on top of the goatcheese..just something extra..Anyway... I would go there again for the nice lemon tea they serve but not to have breakfast or lunch there..Too bad as I loved the location and atmosphere..
I found this postcard and I laughed my ass of... No offense to y'all vegans..but come on.. this is hysterical right?!
I know I know.. it's Autumn. But hey...today was a good sunny day! I even put my sunnies on again.. So although it's getting colder I still felt like making my own delish icecream again..It's easy, refreshing and even healthy! WHAT?!? yes.. believe me.. HEALTHY! All my friends love my home-made icecream, in summertime when they come over the first thing they'll do is walk up to my freezer and get themselves an icecream.. uhhh wel hello to you too..?! haha.. Anyway, I like it that way..I think it's a big compliment that they like to so much! Therefor I want to share my recipe with all you hot looking readers..
You can buy those nice colourful ice-cups at the 'Blokker' or 'Hema', They're really cheap and you can use them over and over again.. This is also a very unique dessert whenever you have a bbq or a house-warming party.. it's different, it's delicious and guilty free! For those who have kids running around, this is what I think is a great treat, instead of buying those ice-lollies with loads of sugars and E-numbers in...What are you waiting for.. look up my RECIPE while it's not winter yet!
I've always been a big fan of the Japanese cuisine, I love it that they work with beautiful products and keep their dishes simple and pure and let the ingredients speak for themselves. I became an even bigger fan when I was in Tokyo exactly 1 year ago. For me it wasn't that much of a culture shock.. it reminded me a lot of Singapore, but the food..OMSG it was SO DAMN GOOD!! There's so much more then the popular sushi...
I was having dinner & drinks with the fabulous artist 'Nobuyoshi Araki', that was the first time I ate the dish 'Agadashi', I loved it so much I asked the chef how he made it but it was very hard to communicate with him so I hope I got it right. I always like to make this dish when I'm busy because it's so easy and quick to make, normally I like to serve them with some noodles but today I wasn't really feeling hungry..so I ate this with some steamed edamame.. Check out my Recipe of this delicious easy to make Japanese dish.
I just made myself these lovely sandwiches, fresh dark bread with a crusty crust..some avocado, rucola, old cheese and smoked beef with a bit of black pepper..(no salt...why? because the cheese is already salty enough)
This people.. is what I call a nice lunch!
On a hot summery day I like to refresh myself with a good old Frozen Yoghurt! I'm not a big ice-cream lover..but I really go bananas for Frozen Yoghurt! READ MORE..
