I made this beautiful dish last Thursday. I still had a piece of pumpkin left in my fridge, and I was bored with my pumpkin fries so I decided to mash the grilled pumpkin and mix it with a nice home-made thai red curry!
Pumpkin goes really well with coconut milk, and asian spices! I will post my recipe tonight!
Last Sunday I made a nice healthy dinner at D's place.. As usual I asked D. what he felt like eating, but in the back of my mind I knew it had to be something healthy too as D. was just recovering from a bad cold.
I laughed my ass of when I was preparing the pumpkin and D. walked in the kitchen looking what I was doing..I just cut the pumpkin in half and he looked at me as if he just seen a ghost and screamed dramatic.. OH MY GODDD .. WHAT IS THAT??!!??! pointing from a distance to my lovely pumpkin..It smells like FART! WHUAHA I laughed so hard.. you should have seen his face! As if I was doing something illegal in the kitchen. Luckily he loved the pumpkin fries I made combined with a nice medium steak, wild spinach seasoned with garlic and coriander-seeds and a medium boiled egg..
This dish is super healthy, full of iron, vitamins, proteins and healthy fibres. I finished this dish in just 25 minutes!
I will post my recipe tomorrow as I have a serious lack of sleep the last couple of months..and I want to be in bed before 23:00..
You must have seen them in the shelves of your local supermarket.. yes people.. It's Cranberry Season! I love the sweet 'n sour taste they have.. and they are really easy to prepare in just about anything to give your dish that extra hint of deliciousness ;)
For example... grill them in your oven for a couple of minutes and add them to your goat-cheese salad. Or boil them together in a gravy and mash them a bit (using a fork)...finish it off with a shot of red wine and there you go.. a nice cranberry gravy to go with your tender piece of meat! Or do what I did last week (so sorry I totally forgot to make a picture) I had some leftover dough from an apple-pie I made for a client, so I decided to make a nice big cookie out of it..I pushed some of the lovely red cranberries into the dough right before I put it in the oven.. and seriously.. that cookie was so DAMN GOOD! AAH...
Besides that cranberries are really tasty.. they are also super super healthy for you! They are loaded with antioxidants and many essential nutrients. There are many health benefits of cranberries, and you can make them a part of your daily diet by eating the whole berry, drinking the juice, or taking a supplement...READ MORE
First of all.. so sorry that I didn't post anything the last few days.. but I was super busy.. and so tired every day when I finished work...But hey.. I'm back on track again..!! Last week Thursday I had a wonderful dinner at 'A La Ferme', a restaurant I wouldn't have found if it wasn't for my colleague A. who came up with the idea to have a nice 'get-to-gether' at this restaurant. Because we were with so many (30 people) 'A La Ferme' made us a fixed menu.

I skipped the Duck-mousse, but I did eat the small amuse of Endive-soup, I thought it was really nice except just a bit to bitter for me. The starter was to DIE for.. as you guys know I'm a big sashimi lover they served us a great cod-tartare with a very nice dressing.. I tasted a bit of dill and some lemon.. MMMmmm. No need to over seasoning it.. when you have good quality fish the natures speaks for itself..Loved it! The main was Ducks breast served with a small portion in the middle of mashed potatoes with mashed carrots. The Duck was super super tender and very juicy.. I couldnt finish my plate..I'm just not a big meat-eater so it was to much for me.. AND I had to make room left for dessert right?! The dessert was 'oke'. I did finish my plate because I was really craving for sweets! Overall I would really recommend this place to have a nice dinner. Especially for those who love to eat a perfectly prepared piece of meat or a nice grilled fish, this hidden treasure is a good one to keep in mind! Go check out their menu HERE.

Hope you're a bit patient!

Today I walked in this shop 'De Kookboekhandel' (transl. The CookBookStore). Well no need to explain of what they sell right? haha.. The shop is very cosy and it gives you a very 'home feeling'. They just have soooo many beautiful cookbooks, all the shelves are just fully packed.. and even a nice dinnertable in the centre of the shop where you can take a seat too look into all the cookbooks more relaxed. LOVE IT! I found the 'Desperate Housewives' (from tv) cookbook, I didn't even know it existed until recently my friend told me.. So I asked the nice lady behind the counter, and sure she had it! The 'Desperate Housewives' cookbook gives you all the recipes you see come across in the series...so now instead of constantly wondering how the food will taste (especially from Bree) you finally can make them in your own kitchen!
I also think that books are always a nice gift to give, but really..some books I've seen in this store are really beautiful, even for those who are not interested in the recipes, the book will be just greatlooking on your coffeetable!
Normally when I have my friends over for dinner I have everything set and done so my guests just have to sit back, relax and enjoy my delish food.. but this time I was rushing back home from work, and I didn't clean my house and still had to do my groceries too! DAMN... So the minute I got home I started like a crazy person cleaning my house, light the candles..and the minute I just wanted to text her to ask if she could come 15 min. later the doorbell already ring! $#%%&^#$%%#$ .. my hair looked like a freakin' birds nest when my friend G. walked in..
G. asked me enthusiastic; what's for dinner babe?! I explained her my situation and asked her to join me to do some groceries at the Eko Plaza! I made this beautiful dish in just 30 minutes! Quinoa with red paprika, peas, grilled pumpkin (with skin), spicy (beef) meatballs and some crispy kale chips on the side..
This dish is super healthy and easy to make in just 30 minutes!

I just LOVE walnuts, they add a flavourful crunch to just about anything! Besides the great taste of walnuts they are also very good for you. They are very high in unsaturated fatty acids, iron, vitamin E and B.
If you just look at the walnut itself they kinda look like 'mini-brains' don't you think? Well guess what?! .....
