Who doesnt love a good portion of delish and fresh sushi!? Last week I managed to attend a little foodblogger gathering at 'The Oyster Club' to try out their new menu! First of all, Thank you for this lovely invite :D and second..well I’m not gonna thank you for making my belly look like a 9 month pregnant lady lol OMG I ate so much K but hey, at least I loved every bit of it.. I mean look at the pictures down below I took with my Iphone. It tasted just as good as it all looked! MMmm…
I love the fact that all sushi chefs from 'The Oyster Club' are well trained in Japan before they we’re allowed back in the kitchen. The way they combine their knowledge with a lot of their own creativity make us some hella delish unique sushi. Now of course myself included with many people out there think you shouldn’t mess with the traditional way of making sushi..cause it’s all about the technique, simplicity and quality that makes sushi good sushi . BUT, yes there is a but here.. the sushi is so freakin tasty, there’s just no denial that ‘stepping out of you comfort kitchen’ is very 2015 and I LOVE IT!
I was already a regular seen guest at 'The Oyster Club' since the start they opened. The main reason why I come here often is because I love the big variety in choice they have in their menu, the always super friendly service and good quality of food with fair prices. The international look and feel makes this spot also perfect for my business meetings where I prefer to order their amazing Caesar or Salmon salad.
Hope you guys liked to read this post cause I sure loved writing it.

I love it when a simple product turns into a fancy pancy looking dish in no time! These goatcheese truffles are amazing to eat just like this. Maybe even better served on a little cookie-stick when you're having a little get to gether with your friends.. BUT, they're also great to give your goatcheese salad an upgrade!
I'm talking business class lol ;D I mean, we all know the boring goatcheese salads, they almost look all the same everywhere you go right. Listen, you don't want to be mainstream right? So surprise your loved ones with this new and improved way to serve your goatcheese salad from now on!!
- Organic Goatcheese
- Raw Almonds
- Raw Hazelnuts
Start by grinding your nuts finely. Roast them in a pan (no oil needed!!). When they turned goldenrownish set it aside. Chop the parsley super fine. Now the best part, I find it nicer to wear Latex gloves to spank myself first.. HAHA kidding ;D But I do wear these special latex kitchen gloves whenever I make these little goatcheese in balls. I just find it more pleasant then working with my bare hands. So no rocketscience.. just make small rounds not to big, not to small, whatever you like best ;)
Check the temperature first of the nut mix, it has to be cooled of before you mix them with the parsley. Roll the goatcheese rounds in the nut-herb mix, make sure you press the coating well.
* When making a goatcheese salad I spread some saladleaves on my plate with some thin slices of apple and cucumber. Then bake the coated goatcheese rounds in a super hot pan for 1 minute on max. fire. and spread them on top of the salad. If you like to add some more sweetness to it you can drizzle some honey on top of it all. Honey makes me barf so I just squeeze some fresh lemon/olive oil marinade on top. MMMMmm... give me a D for DROOL!!
Hope you liked this recipe!
Who would have thought that I would bumb into this superb restaurant with High-end Food - Great Service and Friendly staff in the middle of the Rembrandtsquare (transl. Rembrandtlein, the more touristy area of Amsterdam)!??!?..Yeah..I know I know... but think twice baby, cause THERE IS! Pure out of curiosity I stepped in to take a closer look from the inside (instead of looking like a creep with my hands and face pressed against to window to get a better glimpse lol) and as you can see on the picture down below it looks nothing like a typical Amsterdam restaurant or bar. It feels much more International, as if I just flew to NY in 1 split second, oke a bit exaggerated but you get what I'm saying ;D. I had a look on their menu and I just knew I had to get back here and try out the food ASAP!
My oh My.. do you know that feeling that you're actually full but you just keep on eating the plate as if you're not getting any more food for the rest of you life? Well that's how I finished all my plates :| The absolute highlights were the chicken-coconut soup and the super tender slices of meat we had for the main course.. It was so good, and that SAUCE.. THAT SAUCE :| I can't even.. I mean, what a winner!!
The fact that 'Van Rijn' is located super central in down town Amsterdam just finishes it all for me, especially with the winter in front of us. I mean, I love to spend my weekends out and about but I don't feel like hopping on and of my bike from restaurant to bars in the freezing cold. At 'Van Rijn' I spoil myself first with some good quality food knowing that a few steps away they'll pour me some fantastic cocktails while the hot dj is turning up some fine tunes so I can show of my horrible dance moves lol ;D!
