This is how my everyday life should be, starting my mornings with Dim Sum...Unfortunately (cold truth) this is not the case but hey let's just enjoy this moment ;D Before I headed out for my energizing morning swim I prepped myself a soft boiled egg to go with some steamed dim sum. I made a bunch of them last time and froze them in, love my freezer ;)

Oke, so I'm the kind of person who always wakes up super super early full of energy. I just can't sleep till noon like some of you out there. Although I think it's a good characteristic being an earlybird..I do find it annoying from time to time. Especially when I worked till fucking who knows what time and I just know my body needs more sleep.
Lucky me that I didn't have any big plans or meetings scheduled in this Saturday. So to give my body just that extra care and rest I made myself this easy peasy breakfast to enjoy in bed! BED + BREAKFAST + A GOOD BOOK = Weekend happiness to me! "Life is good, start by taking good care of yourself first.. the rest will follow" xoxo The Cookteaser When I look back on my childhood, some things were definitely better taken care of then in present. For example, my sister and I were spoiled with dim sum breakfast so much that I didn't see it as something unique and special any more.. SHAME!! Although Dim Sum is ment to eat for breakfast I don't really give a f#ck about these stupid rules. mean come on...Good food needs to be eaten no matter what time right?! Don't let the picture scare you, this isn't really as hard as it seems. Trust me, I'll guide you to the process. All you need to do is scroll down.. Ingredients (for +/- 30 pieces): - 4 Spring onions - a big chunk of ginger the size of your big thumb (finely grated) - 2 big straws of Chinese Brocolli (you can use spinach too, make sure you get all the liquid out of the spinach first) - 1 piece of Tofu (chopped finely in small cube 1 x 1 cm) - 1 glove a garlic (chopped super finely or grate it finely) - a handful of dried Shitake mushrooms (make sure you soak them in warm water first and then chop it finely) - 1 package o Dimsum Sheets (you can buy this in any Asian Supermarket, my mom used to make the dough herself too but ain't no time for that lol so THANK the lord for Asian supermarkets) Seasoning: - 2 spoons of Soy sauce - 1 vegetable oil (coconut oil) - 2 spoons of Chinese Rice wine What's next? Bake the Tofu in your fryingpan with some vegetable oil until golden brownish. Set it aside and add again some vegetable oil in the same frying pan. Add the shitake mushrooms for 2 minutes on high fire. Now add the finely chopped Green onions and chinese brocolli to the pan. Stir everything well for about 4 minutes on high heat. Keep on stirring you don't want it to burn. Now add the grated ginger en garlic, add the chinese ricewine and keep on stirring, when all the wine is evaporated you can add the soysauce with the tofu back in the pan, mix mix mix.. 2 more minutes on high heat so there's no more liquid in the pan. TADAA you are done making the mixture! Check the flavors, if you think it needs some more seasoning just use some (himalayan) salt to taste. Put a sheet in your hand and scoop a bit of filling in the middle of the sheet. Now press all the ends upwards and make a little sack out of it.. make sure there are no open holes in the dim sum. They look super cute don't you think??
Steam them for about 10 minutes and they're ready to eat! I always serve these with a bit of soysauce mixed with sesame oil (half/half) Hope you liked this old recipe of our family and don't forget to tag me when you've made this. I'm so curious about your results! xoxo The Cookteaser So some of you already may have noticed, but it seems like I've been addicted to all sorts of cabbages lately. I especially have a weakness for the deep tinted purple ones.. SO PRETTY right?!!! For this recipe I combined the best of worlds, my oh so favorite eggs with this gorgeous mix of green and purple veggies, mix it all up with some asian spices and TA TA TADAAAAA.. You're crispy moist 'vegetable pancake'! Scroll down below to find out how I exactly made this! Ingredients for 1 pancake: - 2 eggs - a small hand of grated (purple) cabbage - a small hand of grated zucchini - chop some Cilantro finely (you can use parsley as well if you're not fond of Cilantro) - a few drops of sesame oil - a little splash of soy sauce * for all you spicy lovers out there.. eat it with some Sriracha Hot Sauce ..f#ck thats good :|(can't help my addiction for chillies) What's next?! Beat up the eggs with the veggie and cilantro, heat up your pan with a splash of sesame oil (this oil will give your pancake a whole new dimension..trust me honey...just trust me..lol). Now be careful flipping the pancake over, make sure it's firm enough when you do. When it's almost ready add a few little drops on the side of the pancake so the soysauce will slice underneath the pancake instead of on top of it.. this will enhance the flavor of the whole dish and color your pancake golden brownish.. me like, me like! Hope you liked this recipe as much as I did, have a great weekend bitches ;D lol
xoxo The Cookteaser GOOD MORNING you sexy piece of ass! As I mentioned yesterday.. I now start my days with quinoa puffs for breakfast. I thought it would be better to show you what it looks like...I mean.. since I am a foodblogger I guess that's what I'm suppose to do right? lol ;D Even for the ones who are always rushing their ways through mornings. This is super easy to make, just a bit of (soy or goat..EEK! you deserve a round of applause) Yoghurt, a handful of Quinoa Puffs, strawberries, mulberries and somehow I hear you thinking.. like what on earth is that orange thing in the middle.. Well stupid, that orange thing ain't just decoration, that is a 100% fresh Incaberrie! Yes, one of the superfoods out there! I love buying them dried in stores but they are..let's just say.. NOT CHEAP! holy crap! Weird thing is, when you buy the incaberries fresh they're so much cheaper, like 1,50 euro or something. Besides I do feel that all nutrients are really in there when you eat fruits fresh instead of dried....Saying that.. just don't get me started on dried mango.. I just can't stop eating them.. f#ck nutrients..) Can't believe the strawberries I bought are already so super tasty! Really.. they were soooo sweet.. Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits out there. When I was 13 years old I desperately begged my mom if I could pleaseeee pleasee start working at this farm picking strawberries...My mom thought.. WOW my kid already want to earn her own money.. HALE to this kid.. But really..It wasn't about earning my own money.. I was just super stoked I could eat strawberries the whole day in the broad daylight! I remember my boss back then, he always joked about my 'natural red lipstick'.. haha.. BUSTED! Glad he thought it was funny. I just can't wait for Summer to begin.. I absolutely adoreeee summer fruits! In a few minutes I'll be heading to the office feeling energised and happy! :D Hope you had a nice breakfast too and start your day as good as mine!
xoxo The Cookteaser I love making my own granola, but if you're not blessed with a lot a free time like me it's just easier to just mix some 'ready to buy' ingredients to make your own new type of 'granola' or 'muesli' whatever you want to name it yourself. I'm totally hooked on eating dried mango, although it's a fruity snack.. they contain a lot of sugar..and with a lot I mean.. it's like a sugarbomb so that makes it also high in Cal..(not so sexy..)! So instead of eating them just as a snack I came up with this idea to cut them in little bits so I can mix it with the rest of my mix of Buckwheat flakes, Linseed, Goji berries, Coconut crisps, Hazelnuts and (glutenfree) Oatmeal. I love the fact that there's a big variety on glutenfree 'oats' you can buy at the Eko Plaza, believe me... eating just quinoa-oats with yoghurt is SUPER BORING and really not that tasty.. so mix mix mix.. and TADAAA...you're personalised healthy breakfast mix is ready to be eaten..! TIP: Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl and stir it well so everything is mixed evenly and then put it back into a big Weckpot or big Mason Jar! Not only doen this look stunning on your kitchencabinets, the taste is even better! I love to eat this as a snack in between meals or to start my day with. Layers of 'Light Soft Curd Cheese' (Dutch transl. magere kwark) or if you like you can change it into Soy yoghurt, coconut yoghurt.. you name it..
Layer it with fruits you love and your own mix of oats, healthy seeds and dried fruits! I bet that after eating your own customised mix you will NEVER order a granola/yoghurt outdoors.. this just beats it by FARRRR! Have a nice day! xoxo The Cookteaser Good morning!! Kale is not only tasty to cook with but even better is to eat them raw! Now, I get it that you have a busy lifestyle where you might not have the time to cook and all.. So what I do when I don't have enough time to sit and eat I make myself a juice with more vegetables instead of fruit! This way you'll get all the fibres and vitamins your body needs to look & feel great! Trust me.. after this juice you are one stuffed little lady (ew...that actually sounded gross..but you know what I mean) Tip: Please don't buy those 10 dollar blenders.. cause...how can I say this nicely... well.. they just SUCK! Why?!? Because they won't blend the kale or any other vegetable in a smooth juice like a good top quality blender does. A big thank you to Kitchenaid! I love my blender! :D Ingredients to juice:
- 1 cucumber - 1 lemon - 1 green apple - 2 red beet - a chunk of ginger Ingredients to blend: - your freshly made juice - 3 hands of kale I love juices in the mornings but I forgot to buy all the vegetables to juice so I made myself a little fruit bowl to start the day with instead! This recipe is super easy and to me it taste more like a desert! I mean really..! I can't believe that it's super healthy what I'm eating?! It's super easy and super delish scroll down for the recipe! Ingredients: - 1 banana - a handful of blueberries - 2 walnuts (crushed) - 1 spoon of maca powder - 1 tea spoon of cinnamon powder - 1 tea spoon of cacao powder - 3 spoons of broken linseed (Dutch transl. gebroken lijnzaad) Tip: When you eat this for breakfast it's important to add the walnuts (or other nuts), this will make your body get rid of bad toxins more easily because of the natural fats. Really.. 2 walnuts won't make you fat honey.. lol. Also make sure you buy raw Cacao powder NOT Cacoa... (mind the swap between the 'o' and 'a', cause there are health benefits nutrients in the regular Cacoa at all) Have a great day!
xoxo The Cookteaser Today I'm feeling..H to the Ungover.. jeeezzz. and there's only one person to blame for this and that will be ME (urgh) What happened was, my friend S. came over to drink some tea and relax at my place last night..Somehow the tea turned into wine..crazy enough the wine turned into shots and those shots magicly turned into f#cking gin!! I know right..that's like the weirdest thing EVER! lol So after a parade of embarrassing myself all night I woke up this morning feeling like I was hit by a truck! :|. Like most Asians my body can't handle alcohol or in other words alcohol is like poisoning myself. I didn't feel like doing groceries so I looked into my fridge to see if I could fix myself something and I sure did!! This spinach-egg-roll turned out GREAT! Scroll down for this easy peasy recipe. I made this in just 15 minutes! Ingredients you'll need: - a handful of spinach - 2 eggs - 4 cherry tomatoes - a big of goatcheese - some salt, pepper and garlic powder *you'll need your food processor for this recipe. What the F#ck is next? Mix the spinach, eggs and seasoning using a food processor. Use a bit of coconutoil and pour the mixture into the pan. Put the fire on low heat and leave it for something like 3 minutes or so, just check if the pancake isn't wet any more so you can flip it. Put the heat on max. for 30 more seconds and it's a (W)RAP! Finish it with tomatoes and goatcheese and you are DONE! Mmmmm Enjoy! It's really good! This was SO easy to make, SO damn tasty.. AND good for the body! Mmmmm..Gotta love it! Have a great day! As you guys know I'm all about making myself a super healthy vegetable juice every single morning. I try to be as creative as possible so I won't be bored with it and today I decided to add some Passion fruit to my vegetable juice. Let me tell you.. this combo is FAN-F#cking-TASTIC! I normally eat passion fruit just throughout the day, as a snack, I just LOVE the sweet and sour taste it has, just cut the fruit in half and scoop out the flesh by using a teaspoon! I seriously imagine myself somehwere in the tropics when I'm eating this with my eyes closed!..(yes with my eyes CLOSED I said..lol) MMMmm so damn tasty!! The Juice I had this morning:
- 1/2 cucumber - 3 carrots - a chunk of ginger - 1 lemon - 1 orange - 1 passion fruit (don't put the passion fruit in the juicer, just add it at last) - 1 spoon of Maca powder After drinking this I'm good to go! Well HELLOOOO WORLDDDDD :D |
