Every Wednesday there's this super cute organic market at the Haarlemmerplein in Amsterdam. I wrote about this market 1 year ago already but I just had to highlight it again cause I came across these little dirty balls...oke..they were not dirty.. but I just felt like saying that lol But really.. they we're intensely tasty!! OMFG..

I think it's a typical Dutch Cookie called 'Cocosmacroon'?! What I think what makes this cookie so damn special is because in these cocosmacronen they didn't use any sugar or grain! So yes... y'all with a Gluten allergy or those on a no-sugar diet..(by the way...I feel with you :|) this cookie is just made for you! I LOVE the taste of cocos, I could eat these cookies or an cocos dish every day!!(pinky swear..) If you don't mind to eat some sugar choose the cocosmacroon with a hint of gingerflavour.. that one is TO DIE FOR! I eventually bought 5 balls for 5,- euro (3 without sugar and 2 with ginger flavour) and I don't know what happened..but I ate them all one to another...WOOPS :O like why am I always like this.. ?!I just don't have the discipline to stop and wait for a while ..pff oh well.. at least I enjoyed them...(in 10 minutes...urgh)

This stall stood out to me.. I mean look at the pictures.. the food looks so stunning! I hope you like my tip and try those (sugarless) balls too! Trust me.. they're worth the try!

Doctor Doctor.. cure me please from being thirsty and in great need for some healthy vitamin shots! This, my sexy followers...is one of my new favourite hotspots in down town Amsterdam!! I love the name, love the service and last but sure not least.. I fucking LOVE the SMOOTHIES! Good god.. they're just so damn tasty so I had to share this with you guys!!

Ask the staff anything you want to know and they'll give you loads and loads of information..A month ago or so I started a small chat with the guy who runs this place and he just get's it.. S E R V I C E.. yes I know I know.. for some Amsterdam people a very unfamiliar word..they're like..'omg..what does it mean?!' LMFAO .. well honey.. it means.. that people love their job and put their love and energy into what their selling while doing it with some flair and grace..
Yes.. I know.. WEIRDDD.. and very uncommon so THANK you Dr. Blend for running your business with so much flair & care!

Although I'm all psyched about this new shop in Amsterdam there's just one thing. Dr. Blend.. if you read this.. these straws.. are not hard and thick enough.. (this kinda sounds awkward...) But I'm really serious though! Cause they would 'bend over' while drinking..(oke this is just getting weirder and weirder..)

Somehow I've been dealing with awful stomach acid lately.. and I want to get rid of it without taking one of those  Rennie tablets or other kind of chemical medicine..
Instead, I went to one of my favourite stores  The Super Food Centre in Amsterdam and asked the guy beghind the counter what would be good for me to add to my diet to get rid of my stomach acid the natural way.

He directly pointed his finger to this Gorgeous bottle of Raw - Unfiltered Apple Cider! A spoon a day on an empthy stomach mixed with some water would kill the Acid! I've been drinking this now since the weekend and my nauseous and tummy aches are gone!! After doing some research (this sounds as if I'm a pro..lol) I found out that Apple Cider Vinegar is effective for pretty much anything to maintain your gorgeous looks! Your skin, your hair, your house, and even your pets can benefit from its qualities. Raw, organic unfiltered and unpasteurized, apple cider vinegar is so much more than a salad dressing! I just had to share this with you!

It can make your hair shine.

Apple cider vinegar can be used as a rinse for your hair after shampooing, and will boost your hair's body and shine. I recommend recycling an old shampoo bottle, then filling it with 1/2 a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a cup of cold water. Pour the solution through your hair after shampooing several times a week for dramatic results.

Natural apple cider vinegar regulates the pH  of your skin.
Dilute ACV with two parts water, and spread the concoction over your face with a cotton ball to replace your current toner. You can do this at night after washing, and in the morning before you apply your moisturizer. A dab of apple cider vinegar can also be left on the skin overnight to fade age spots or acne scars.

It's also a recommended agent for warts. For warts, soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, then fasten the cotton ball over the wart with a Band-Aid overnight. Rub teeth directly with apple cider vinegar, and rinse with water.

Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to your bath, and soak for 10 minutes to eliminate discomfort from sunburn.

Apple cider vinegar can be used as a natural aftershave.
Fill a bottle with equal parts apple cider vinegar and water, and shake before applying to the face.

Apple cider vinegar can aid in weight loss.
For daily weight management, add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to 16 ounces of water. This concoction can be sipped throughout the day. Data shows some limited, yet significant, weight loss benefits from sustained daily intake of acetic acid (which is a main ingredient in apple cider vinegar).

In a 2009 study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, it was found that subjects that consumed acetic acid for 12 weeks experienced significant declines in body weight, abdominal fat, waist circumference and triglycerides. Triglycerides contribute to the bad cholesterol that we want to avoid.

Apple cider vinegar will balance your entire inner body system.
The body constantly strives to achieve a state of equilibrium. Apple cider vinegar helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Research shows that higher acid levels (lower pH level) leads to a lack of energy and higher incidences of infection. Hence, my desire to sip some a few times a day for a natural boost of energy.

It can help you detox.
As part of balancing the body's pH, apple cider vinegar creates an overall detoxification of the body. Research shows that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation and help detoxify the liver.

It can help your body get rid of candida.
This vinegar is rich in natural enzymes that can help rid your body of candida yeasts that are attributed to thrush in humans. Candida also is blamed for creating symptoms of fatigue, poor memory, sugar craving and yeast infections.

SO yeah.. although my stomach acid is gone now.. I will keep on drinking this.. Oh minor detail.. it taste like old milk and looks like dark pee.. haha..so close your eyes and clam your nose..and BAM.. drink it! Make sure you don't eat after drinking it. Wait for at least 20 minutes!

I should have post this blog wayyyyyy earlier but I ...I actually have no excuse... I just didn't oke?! haha so here it comes.. better late then never! ;D

WOOHOOO.. I was really so happy when I got the news that Amsterdam is finally enriched with a huge Dille & Kamille shop! I ab-so-lutely LOVE it SO MUCH! When I walked into the shop, for a moment I felt like I wasn't in Amsterdam. Because I normally only go there whenever I'm in Antwerp or London. Don't ask me why I never did some online shopping...as I'm quite good at it when it comes to expanding my wardrobe (..woops) but somehow when it comes to kitches appliances I'd rather buy them in a real store then online.. there IS another Dille & Kamille shop in Holland but outside Amsterdam..and you know what they say about Amsterdam based people..YUP..to lazy to travel ;D And I'm proud of it (well.. actually I'm not.. so scrap that)

I just HAVE to walk in this shop and I always walk out of it with just way to much stuff to bring back home.. Especially the stash of weckpots, jars & glass bottles they have! It's a must for every cook addict like me! They look absolutely STUNNING on your kitchen counter!

For those who don't own a spirooli, you can buy this Julien slicer for just a few bucks and in no time you have made your zucchini spaghetti with this thing! It will give you the exact same result as the spirooli does but a bit more time consuming.. but I bet that after you work with it more often you'll get the hang of it. :D

Start making your own organic herbs! They have about every herb you can think of and the glass bowl is what I think G to the Orgeous.. GORGEOUSSSSS!!

This shop is not only great to buy stuff for yourself. But since it's open I LOVE coming here to buy gifts for my lovedones who adore cooking and/or baking like I do!

Tip: check out the stunning dried flowers they have upstairs on the right! Gotta have those in your interior!

One of my favourite drinks is TEA! I START my day and END my day with a nice cup of tea! I only drink herbal tea and not those weird fruit flavoured ones..EEK so chemical!!
As my friends know I most of the time prefer a nice cup of tea over a glass of wine it's very common they give me a nice package of Tea instead of a bottle of wine when I invite them over for dinner..LOVE IT :D! I was actually very surprised when my lovely friend K. gave me this beautiful package from 'Natural Temptation'! It's rare I haven't heard of this tea brand before but I'm glad I know now and I won't forget about it cause I ab-so-lu-tely LOVE the flavour: Elderflower with a hint of Vanilla! Mmmm...

As I was curious what more flavours they offer I looked them up on the internet and found out a website where you can ORDER all the flavours easily. Oh.. I'm such a sucker for online shopping... click..click..click and empty wallet...luckily this tea isn't expensive at all! just 3,49 euro for 18 tea sachets!! WOOHOO..

I've been wanting these Mason Jars for quite a while now and after some surfing on the internet I was SOO happy to find this online shop www.masonjar.nl where you can easily order them!! In just about every American household you'll find mason jars and I think it's about time that we join them! I mean they're not just useful to preserve your food in but they also look stunning to serve your home made lemonade, layered desert, smoothies, lunch, layers of salad..oh f#ck..the list is just ENDLES really OH and wait.. you're not going to believe this but you can even turn your old mason jar into a Light bulb! uhuh..that's right.. a lamp.. as in... lightning ..AND it looks absolutely STUNNING!
I prefer to store my food in glass jars then in plastic boxes, this way I'm 100% sure that bad chemicals won't infuse with my food or drinks! Plastic smells and especially when you put them in the dishwasher or a microwave! (I don't have a microwave but..for those who have.. please throw them in the bin asap)

Since I have my mason jars in all sizes I even bring my lunch to work in a mason jar! This works much better for me as the weckpots I had before were always leaking and even one time snapped in my bag..holy crap!! Let me tell you.. my bag wasn't really happy with that! The screw lid is super strong and the glass of the jars is also super thick! 
You can use he jars in the freezer, oven but they are an absolute eyecatcher in your kitchen cabinets!

If you google (images) 'Mason Jar', your laptop screen literally will explode with inspiring images 'what great things'  you can do with this beautiful simple jar! Last week I was heaving diner at my friend K. and instead of bringing a bottle of wine I brought a big jar with my home made Green Tea Lemonade!(see the image below) We both have a busy work schedule and as it's just the middle of the week we don't feel like drinking alcohol, so this is just a GREAT alternative!

Recipe for 2 litre of Green Tea Lemonade:
- 2 japanese green tea bags
- 6 slices of ginger
- 4 slices of Lemon
- 6 slices of granny smith apple

What's next?
Use 1 japanese green tea bag for 1 ltr. Add the 3 slices of ginger. Wait till the tea is cooled of and then add the 2 slices of lemon and 3 slices of granny smith apple in each jar. Store it in the fridge with the lid on and the lemonade will be super super refreshing and tasty the next day! I love to drink this on hot summer days but also when I come home after a hard sweaty work out!

*Tip
Instead of mixing booz with cranberry juice or soda drinks try to mix them with this Iced Green tea, in Asia it's super common to mix your vodka or gin with a cold unsugared green tea.. LOVE IT

I was in Den Hague yesterday to go and have delicious Dim Sum with my cousins! By the way..for the ones who deal with an gluten allergy; I think having dim sum for lunch is the best alternative for sandwiches! WHY?!?! Well because 99,9% of the whole menu is glutenfree, they use rice flour instead of regular flour.. AND if you only choose to eat the steamed dim sum you're also having a 'low-cal' lunch! So what are you waiting for? It reminded me that it's really been a while that my friends and I go and eat dim sum in weekends..I will definitely try to do that more often. My phone decided to 'die' on me so I couldn't make pictures of all the crazy delish dim sum we had! BUT.. I asked them if I could charge my phone in the restaurant so I could use it again after lunch. Guess what we ran in to when we walked out of the restaurant?!!?  A VEGAN ASIAN TOKO!

Curious that I was we went in to have a look, it kinda looks like a typical Asian Supermarket plus they had a small take-away food bar too! Of course all vegan! Love it! As you can see on the pictures I took they had this crazy assortment in the freezer with vegan duck breast, vegan schrimps ..EVEN vegan chicken legs!! If there havent been a sticker on it saying 'vegan ...' I wouldn't have known..cause it all looked so REAL! it's crazy! Although I don't really get why people who don't want to eat meat still prefer to eat stuff that looks like meat?!?! But hey.. let's not discus that topic ;)
One thing's for sure.. and that's you don't have to miss out a thing if you're vegan!

I saw a wall stacked with packages saying 'soja beef' and 'soya chicken'. Curious as I was I thought let's give this a try..So for 3,- euro I got my first bag of fake soja beef!??
They feel and look like old prawn-crackers.. but I was told to soak them in cold water first and after a while  they'll end up getting the taste and texture like real beef slices. The lady behind the counter told me to just stir fry them like you would normally do..HMm.. I'm really curious and can't wait to try it out! I'll ask my friend Y. to come over for dinner on Tuesday (she's vegan) and make Beef Rendang with this 'fake-meat'! So it's true.. Asians don't only copy designer handbags, computers and phones...but they can add food to their list too! :| what a strange world we live in..

I most of the time drink my coffee and dirty chais decaf. Only when I'm feeling really tired and still have a lot stuff to do I drink mine with. For 2 weeks now I'm drinking a vegetable juice every morning instead of my two boiled eggs regime. And I have to be honest with you guys, the juice gives me such a better feeling and I feel very stuffed after drinking 1 big glass of this! My secret is to put 1 big spoon of Maca powder in my drink (stir it well to get all the lumps out) and I'm good to go. One thing I noticed changing is that since I've been drinking this every morning my skin is really starting to look better, even my friends notice it without me asking for it!

Wondering how I got into Maca powder? Well a few weeks ago I was at one of my favourite shops the 'Super Food Centre' and I was having really bad skin problems..so bad that I didn't feel like going out for drinks! (uhuh..that's when you know it's serious) I asked the friendly lady behind the juicebar if she'd had any advise  for me to add to my diet. I don't really believe in all these expensive skin creames..I really believe that you can heal yourself eating the right food. She advised me to start taking Maca Powder and Chlorella tablets. And tada.. look where I am now. No more infections on my skin.. still not perfect..YET.. but my skin really cleared up in just 2 weeks guys! If you know the problem of having skin problems you know how bad you can feel .. you have nothing to loose.. TRY this too!

Last Sunday I was at this lovely shop Van Dijk & Ko, they sell amazing vintage, one of a kind industrial furnitures and unique home decorating stuff. I bought these beautiful heavy metal crates for in my kitchen to stash my fruits and tea in! Nice thing about it is that they only cost me 15,- euro each! The girls who worked there were so helpful, love that! I mean come on..Don't you just love it how this looks?!? Cause I sure do!
