I love flowers..roses, violins, orchids... but another flower I really adore is the 'Cauliflower'! Time to highlight this beautiful veggie! This stunning off-white looking veggie is really worthwhile adding to your grocery cart! Why? Well let me tell you why. The cauliflower has a low carbohydrate content and therefor a great substitute for potatoes or do what I do, grate your cauliflower to be the substitute for regular rice, really, all my friends LOVE it when I make my version of fried-'rice'! Another thing I like about this veggie is that it's also super tasty just to eat them RRRRrrraw...great to up-lift your salads! When you heat them up they're taste turn into a soft sweetness..MMmm.. Besides the variety of what you can do with this veggie there are some great things you should know about the cauliflower too.. Did you know that a diet high in cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower has been been linked to a significant reduction in the risk of cancer, especially prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and bladder cancer. Cauliflower is also a great source of dietary fiber, which is essential for optimal ..you know.. flushing of the body ;) Another great thing you should know is that this big flower-bomb even helps to lower your cholesterol! Cauliflower also contains a high amount of antioxidants, which are essential for the body's overall health and help to prevent heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Antioxidants are also essential in destroying free radicals so you'll keep your great fabulous sexy looks even longer! Seriously.. what's not to like about this veggie. I'll forgive this flower that it doesn't smell like roses ;)
